You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ### Background In 2005 I completed the training Outdoor Management in Groningen as specialisations Hike and climbing. After that I spent two years in the Belgian ardennes groups supervised during outdoor activities. I am also active in various CIOS outdoor sports education as a visiting professor since 2005 during training weeks, mainly in France. In 2008 I for "T & M Outdoor Travel" at work in Spain, where I the same year got my specialization rafting. Since 2015 I am the owner of "Collegats Outdoor" I still have my summer in Spain spend and supervised activities with pleasure. In recent years I am particularly active in the canyoneering. I have previously earned my French guide diplomas in 2011 and my Dutch instructor diploma in 2012. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ### Background Hi! In 2009, I started learing about outdoor sports through my education. This stimulated me so much that in 2011 I decided to switch from the Academy for Physical Education in Groningen to the Cios in Heerenveen. This course allowed me to fully focus on outdoor sports. I started working in the French Pyrenees in 2011 and ended up spending five seasons there, up to and including the 2016 season, first as a guide and later also in the position of internship supervisor and trainer. After 2016, I've worked less intensively as a professional guide for a number of years, but I have always continued canyoning as a hobbyist, at a high level. Together with my friends Alexander and Kees, I've explored canyons throughout Europe and developed myself further in the sport. I have also been involved in various courses related to canyoning. During the summer I can mainly be found in the canyons, but my second great love is the river. So when I'm not in the canyons you will mainly find me on the back of the raft. I am very proud to tell you that I have been co-owner of Collegats Outdoor since 2023, so I am also involved in the ins and outs of the company during the summers. I love the outdoors, sports, and making people happy. That's why I made the switch to outdoor sports. It is fantastic to be able to give people a wonderful outdoor sports experience. What I think is important to tell about myself is that I can always be found in the outdoors. You can notice this in my favourite hobby/sport, namely: survival runs. I have been competing in the sport for over 9 years and I travel all over the country to participate in various competitions. In the youth categories I was able to fight for the major prizes, where I became a national champion in my category twice. Now I've managed to win the gold and bronze medals among the senior catergories during my first two runs of 15 km. As far as my work is concerned, I know nothing other than that I have always been teaching. I used to teach survival training to the youth catergory, I was an assistant in giving swimming lessons and now I am still actively teaching 4 days a week at the Vital sports center. Where I provide everything from bootcamp- to circuit- and even personal training. I am Sophie, 22 years old, and an intern at Collegats Outdoor this summer. Sitting still? That’s not really my thing. From a young age, I’ve always been involved in sports. I’ve tried everything: gymnastics, trampolining, skiing, street dance… and nowadays you can mostly find me on the hockey field or behind a wakeboard. The more action, the better! Being outdoors is also really my thing. I’ve been going camping with my family every year my whole life and I really enjoy the outdoors. A tent, mountains, a campfire, and a bit of adventure make me completely happy. I study at the CIOS in Arnhem, where I am taking the Adventure track. That’s how I ended up at Collegats this summer, a place that actually suits me perfectly. I love working together, meeting new people, and I’m always up for a challenge. I also don't mind a bit of adrenaline every now and then. This summer, I look forward to experiencing the most amazing adventures with you, pushing boundaries, laughing a lot, and above all, having a great time.
